Some clients don’t need or want shelter right now, but we can still need help! Please see our walk-in services page for more information.
Victims and their families can seek temporary shelter from their abusers completely free of charge. The length of stay depends on many different factors, and can vary from several weeks to several months. Shelter clients will work with housing advocates, court advocates, peer counselors, and case managers to determine their immediate needs to establish stability and begin building a path to self-sufficiency. Court advocates can assist clients with obtaining protective orders and can accompany clients to court hearings. To start the process, call the DV Hotline at 540-587-0970, or toll free at 1-877-656-1984. Not every client requires shelter, but may still need DV services. Please see our walk-in services tab for more information. The shelter is handicapped accessible.
